Why outdoor acrylic goes on an indoor court
Court acrylic carries sand through the mix, and that grit is what you feel underfoot when you change direction. A smooth indoor finish does not give you that, and on a court where you are pushing off hard it matters.
It is a deliberate choice rather than a shortcut — the same material an outdoor court gets, used inside for the traction rather than the weather resistance.
Laying two sports into one building
Thirty by sixty feet takes a full pickleball court, and a half basketball court can be laid sideways across it. Full pickleball lines, with a dashed free-throw line and three-point arc for basketball — enough to play, not so much that it clutters the pickleball layout.
A wall-mounted hoop with wall padding keeps the floor clear, which matters more indoors than out.
Building in the off season
Outdoors, paint needs warmth to cure, so the season decides the schedule. Inside a building where the temperature can be held steady, it does not.
If you want a court finished before spring rather than during it, indoors is how that happens.
